Your first impression may be the only impression you get to make with new members, so make it meaningful. Extend a phone call or in person meeting to the new members, and try to make the majority of the conversation about them!

- What are they looking to receive/experience from your community?
The above three questions can clue you in to their interests, volunteer availability, faith experience and so much more. From understanding their reasons to joining, to being able to match them with a certain program or ministry, this initial visit can be inclusive and effective for both the community and your new member. Remember these new members are looking to get involved and interested in supporting your mission, don’t let their excitement start to fade.
