Advancement Services

Liz Cotter joins our team with almost a decade of fundraising experience. In new her role at Design Big Dreams she will draw on her past experience to improve the fundraising and development efforts for clients that wish to engage these services.

With nearly a decade working for a private Catholic school on the east coast she is familiar with the challenges schools are facing in today’s environment. Liz’s school fundraising efforts focused on alumni outreach, grant writing, events, and coordinating parent fundraising with long-term school planning goals.

Liz’s background includes many years working for a small congregation of sisters spanning the entire United States with ministries ranging from safe harboring of women to care for the elderly and disabled to youth education. While working on behalf of this organization Liz executed a capital campaign and disaster relief campaign, in addition to their annual fundraising strategy.  Most of her efforts were spent designing materials, creating content, and overseeing their efforts to move into a digital fundraising.

Liz will work with you to create self-sustaining bases of donors developing a strong web presence including content relevant to giving. Her strategic development incorporates online giving portals, prayer request submissions, e-newsletters, managing social media pages, and coordinating traditional communication pieces with synergetic digital versions.

A member of the National Catholic Development Conference since 2008, Elizabeth has attended several annual conferences and many seminars for the Greater New York chapter.  Eager to delve deeper into the Catholic fundraising segment of the third sector, she was humbled when asked to serve as a member of the planning committee for the 2013 conference in Grapevine, Texas.

Liz graduated Cum Laude from New York University’s Grantmaking and Philanthropy Masters Program in 2015 and  Magna Cum Laude from New York University with a BS in Media, Culture and Communications. She resides in Staten Island, NY with her husband and two young children.
